Video game console and home computer, 1987, Atari. The XE Game System is a 65XE repackaged as a games console to compete with the Nintendo NES and Sega Master System. The base unit is a grey box with a cartridge slot on top; the detachable keyboard turns it into a full Atari 8-bit computer, so it runs the whole library of XL/XE software as well as the cartridges released for it. It was sold with a joystick, the XG-1 light gun and the games Missile Command (built in) and Bug Hunt; Flight Simulator II was added to the deluxe pack.
