Cassette recorder, 1983, Atari. The 1010 Program Recorder replaced the original 410 and was styled to match the XL computers. It records programs and data on ordinary audio cassettes at 600 baud through the SIO serial bus, and has a second SIO connector so that other devices can be chained after it. The audio track can also play sound or speech through the television while a program loads, a feature used by some educational software.
