Video game console, 1982, General Consumer Electronics. The Vectrex is the only home console with a built-in vector display: a 9" monochrome CRT draws lines directly, like the arcade games Asteroids and Battlezone, and coloured plastic overlays laid on the screen give each game its colours. It was designed by Smith Engineering, sold by GCE and then by Milton Bradley, and reached Europe in 1983. Asteroids-clone Mine Storm is built in; a light pen and 3D glasses were sold as accessories.
