Computer add-on, 1983, Spectravideo. The CompuMate SV010 turns an Atari 2600 into a rudimentary home computer. The unit is a flat membrane keyboard that sits over the console and plugs into the cartridge slot and both joystick ports; it contains 16 KB of ROM with a BASIC interpreter, a music program and a drawing program, plus 2 KB of RAM, while the graphics and sound are produced by the console itself. Programs could be saved to a cassette recorder through audio jacks. This unit carries the Universum brand under which it was sold in Germany by the mail-order company Quelle.
