Computer module, 1983, Mattel Electronics. The Entertainment Computer System (ECS) is the add-on that turns the Intellivision into a home computer, released in 1983 after Mattel had been fined for advertising a keyboard component that never appeared. The module plugs into the cartridge slot and adds a 6502-class processor, 2 KB of RAM, a BASIC in ROM, a cassette interface and a printer port; the separate keyboard and the Music Synthesizer connect to it. Few programs were released and the ECS disappeared with Mattel Electronics in 1984.
