Software, 1998, Silicon Graphics. IRIX 6.5 is the last major version of IRIX, the Unix System V operating system of SGI's MIPS workstations and servers, released in 1998 and maintained with quarterly updates until 6.5.30 in 2006. The operating system introduced the XFS file system and the OpenGL graphics library, both later adopted by other systems, and the IRIX Interactive Desktop. This is the software library of CD-ROMs with the operating system, the development tools and the documentation for a MIPS workstation.
