Server, 1997, Compaq. The ProLiant 3000 is a departmental server of the ProLiant line that Compaq had introduced in 1993 and which became the best-selling brand of x86 servers. It takes one or two Pentium II processors, has ECC memory, hot-plug SCSI disk bays, a SmartArray RAID controller and redundant power supply options, and it was sold as a tower or in a rack for Windows NT, NetWare and SCO Unix. The line continued under HP after the merger of 2002.
