Workstation, 1995, Sun Microsystems. The SPARCstation 4 is the low-cost workstation of the SPARCstation family, introduced in 1995 as a cheaper version of the SPARCstation 5 with a microSPARC II processor, fewer slots and integrated graphics, in the same pizza-box case. It was sold to universities and to companies that needed a large number of inexpensive Solaris desktops, and it was one of the last 32-bit SPARC machines.
