Laptop, 2007, One Laptop per Child. The XO-1 is the rugged, low-cost laptop designed by the OLPC foundation of Nicholas Negroponte for children in developing countries, with the goal of a "hundred-dollar laptop". It has a green and white case designed by Yves Béhar, a sealed rubber keyboard, a 7.5" screen that can be read in sunlight and rotated into a tablet position, mesh Wi-Fi networking and no hard disk, and it runs a Linux system with the Sugar interface built around learning activities. Over two million were distributed in Uruguay, Peru, Rwanda and other countries.
