Floppy disk drive, 1984, Apple. The Macintosh External Disk Drive (M0130) is the external 400 KB single-sided 3.5 inch drive sold with the original Macintosh from January 1984, a second drive that made copying disks bearable on the 128K; an 800 KB double-sided version (M0131) followed in 1986.
