Laptop, 1997, Apple. The PowerBook G3 series (1997 to 2001) were the first laptops with the PowerPC G3 processor and were marketed as the fastest laptops in the world; the original 1997 model (code name Kanga) used the PowerBook 3400 case, followed by the black "Wallstreet", "Lombard" and "Pismo" generations.
