Texas Instruments TI99 Speech Synthesizer PHP1500
Speech synthesizer, 1980, Texas Instruments. The Speech Synthesizer PHP1500 plugs into the side expansion port of the TI-99/4A and adds spoken words to the games and educational cartridges written for it, such as Parsec and Alpiner, using the same linear predictive coding chip that TI had introduced in the Speak & Spell. Its vocabulary of about 370 words is in ROM, and with the Terminal Emulator II cartridge it could speak any text.
