Minicomputer, 1978, Data General. The Nova 4 is the last generation of the Nova, the 16-bit minicomputer with which Data General had been founded in 1969. It is built with AMD 2901 bit-slice processors and sold in the Nova 4/C, 4/S and 4/X versions, with up to 128 KB of memory on the 4/X, in a rack-mount chassis with the classic Nova front panel. The Nova 4 ran RDOS and was widely used in laboratories, process control and small business systems until the mid 1980s.
