Interton VC 4000

Video game console, 1978, Interton. The VC 4000 was made by Interton, a German maker of hearing aids, and is one of the first programmable cartridge consoles sold in Europe. It is based on the Signetics 2650 processor and 2636 video chip, a combination used by many similar consoles of the time (Radofin 1292, Acetronic, Grundig Super Play), whose cartridges are compatible with each other. The two controllers have an analogue joystick and a 12-key keypad, and about 40 cartridges were released, mostly in Germany.
