Portable computer, 1987, Olivetti. The M15 was Olivetti's first laptop: an IBM compatible with an 80C88 processor, two 3.5" floppy drives and a 10.5" LCD showing 80 x 25 text and CGA graphics, in a case with a carrying handle and a rechargeable battery pack. It was designed by Michele De Lucchi and sold with MS-DOS 3.2, and its shape, with the screen sliding up and the drives on the side, is typical of the period before the clamshell laptop became standard.
