Portable computer, 1985, Ericsson. The Ericsson Portable PC is a Swedish IBM-compatible luggable that stood out for its orange gas plasma display, one of the first flat screens on a portable PC, which showed 25 lines of 80 characters at 640 x 400 and was far more readable than the LCDs of the time. It has an 8088 at 4.77 MHz, 256 KB of RAM, a single 5.25" drive and a detachable keyboard, and could be ordered with a built-in thermal printer and modem. It weighed about 8 kg and had no battery.
