Floppy disk drive, 1980, Atari. The 810 was the first disk drive for the Atari 400 and 800. It uses single-sided, single-density 5.25" disks holding 90 KB and connects to the computer through the SIO bus, with its own 6507-based controller inside. It shipped with Atari DOS on disk and was expensive, which is why many users stayed with cassette. It is a heavy unit with an external power supply.
