Atari 1050 Floppy disk drive

Floppy disk drive, 1983, Atari. The 1050 replaced the 810 and was styled to match the XL computers. Based on a half-height Tandon mechanism, it reads the 90 KB single-density disks of the 810 and adds an "enhanced density" format of 130 KB, used by the DOS 2.5 supplied with it. It was the standard drive of the XL and XE era, and many were later fitted with third-party upgrades for true double density.
