Personal computer, 1987, IBM. The PS/2 Model 30 is the entry-level machine of the Personal System/2 line with which IBM replaced the PC, XT and AT in April 1987. Unlike the larger PS/2 models it keeps the ISA bus and an 8086 processor, but it introduced the new 3.5" 720 KB floppy drives, the MCGA graphics with 256 colours, the PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports and the slim case that were common to the whole family. A 286 version followed in 1988.
