Sinclair FTV1 - TV80 Flat Screen TV

Pocket television, 1983, Sinclair Research. The TV80 (also known as the Flat Screen Pocket TV or FTV1) was Clive Sinclair's flat-screen television, with a specially developed flat cathode ray tube in which the electron gun is beside the screen rather than behind it, and a Fresnel lens that magnifies the 2" picture. It cost £4 million to develop and only 15,000 were sold, but its tube was a genuine technical innovation and it is now a collector's item.
