Workstation, 1994, Hewlett-Packard. The HP 9000 Model 712/60, code-named Gecko, is a low-cost desktop PA-RISC workstation introduced in 1994 to compete with the Sun SPARCstation 5 and the SGI Indy. It has a PA-7100LC processor at 60 MHz with integrated graphics, memory and I/O controllers, in a small pizza-box case with SCSI disks, Ethernet, audio and a graphics output up to 1280 x 1024, and it runs HP-UX. Faster 80 and 100 MHz versions followed.
