Philips Videopac G7000

Video game console, 1978, Philips. The Videopac G7000 is the European version of the Magnavox Odyssey², released by Philips in 1978. It is one of the few consoles with a built-in membrane keyboard, used by some games and by the educational cartridges, and its Intel 8048 processor with the 8244 video chip gives simple but colourful graphics. It had a large following in Europe, where Philips sold about 50 cartridges and a chess module, and it was followed by the G7400 with improved graphics.
