Atari 1200 XL

Home computer, 1982, Atari. The 1200XL, sold only in North America from early 1983, was the first machine of the XL series. It introduced the sleek new styling of the line, 64 KB of RAM, a keyboard with four function keys and a HELP key, a self-test in ROM and LED indicators. Its new operating system, however, broke compatibility with part of the existing software, some interfaces were dropped and the price was high, so the model was withdrawn within months and replaced by the 600XL and 800XL. It is now appreciated by collectors for its design and keyboard.
