Monitor, 1998, Silicon Graphics. The 1600SW is a 17.3" widescreen flat panel introduced in 1998 with the SGI Visual Workstations, showing 1600 x 1024 pixels at a time when most LCDs were 1024 x 768. It won several design awards for its black cabinet with a thin bezel and a wide base, and about 54,000 were sold. Its OpenLDI digital interface needed a special adapter card or the later MultiLink Adapter to work with ordinary graphics cards.
